Facelift scars are carefully planned and placed to remain as hidden as possible. They are typically concealed within the hairline, inside the natural folds of the ear, around the earlobe, and in the crease behind the ear. An additional scar is usually placed along the back hairline, especially when the lower face and neck are treated together. Another small incision may be made in the crease between the chin and neck to access and improve the central neck area.

After healing, these scars are usually very hard to detect. The key to achieving this is meticulous closure during surgery. Special care is taken to ensure that the incisions are closed with precision, which greatly contributes to the scars being minimal and nearly invisible over time.
